The race partner (SMB session teardown) is local mount/umount or per-uid session teardown activity.
AC:L - The attacker controls both sides — an unprivileged read loop on the world-readable proc file, plus session teardown they can force repeatedly on multiuser/autofs CIFS mounts — and `__cifs_put_smb_ses()` holds the SES_EXITING window open across a blocking SMB LOGOFF round-trip, making the window wide and reliably hit.
PR:L - `/proc/fs/cifs/Stats` is created mode 0644 in the global, non-namespaced procfs, so any unprivileged local user — including one inside a container with `/proc` mounted — can trigger the vulnerable read path. No capability, and no CIFS mount ownership, is required.
UI:N - No victim action is needed: the attacker's own access to a multiuser mount creates and tears down per-fsuid SMB sessions, and ordinary background CIFS mount/reconnect/prune activity supplies the teardown otherwise.
S:U - The use-after-free occurs in kernel memory and its effects stay within the kernel's own security authority; no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.
C:H - Contents of the freed `cifs_tcon` — including `tree_name` printed with `%s`, which reads until a NUL and can run past the freed object — are copied into the seq_file buffer returned to the unprivileged reader, yielding a kernel heap disclosure that can be aimed at reallocated sensitive data via heap grooming.
I:H - A use-after-free of this class gives the attacker influence over the freed slab object's contents, letting dereferenced pointers (`server->ops->print_stats`, tcon list links) be steered by heap spraying into a control-flow/corruption primitive rather than a mere stale read.
A:H - The confirmed sibling bug produced a general protection fault on slab poison in exactly this traversal, and the oops happens while the global `cifs_tcp_ses_lock` spinlock is held, hanging all subsequent CIFS operations system-wide on top of killing the faulting task."

A:H - The confirmed sibling bug produced a general protection fault on slab poison in exactly this traversal, and the oops happens while the global `cifs_tcp_ses_lock` spinlock is held, hanging all subsequent CIFS operations system-wide on top of killing the faulting task."}]}], "affected": [{"repo":
