the vulnerable path is not reachable via network packets or adjacent-network protocols.\\nAC:L - An attacker who can open the device fully controls the v4l2_framebuffer width/height/bytesperline values that overflow the allocation and can reliably set up a CSS stream first, so no conditions outside the attacker\\u2019s control are required.\\nPR:L - Access only requires opening /dev/video* (typically video-group or camera-permission access); atomisp_open and the FPN ioctl path perform no CAP_SYS_ADMIN or root checks.\\nUI:N - The attacker triggers the bug directly via ioctl with crafted framebuffer dimensions; no action by another user is required.\\nS:U - The impact is kernel memory corruption within the host kernel\\u2019s security authority (local privilege escalation / DoS), not a VM, IOMMU, or other cross-boundary escape.\\nC:H - The overflow yields a heap out-of-bounds write of attacker-supplied frame data into the undersized fpn_config buffer, which can be leveraged for arbitrary kernel memory disclosure.\\nI:H - The nested height/width loops write past the undersized kvmalloc buffer with attacker-controlled contents, enabling heap corruption suitable for control-flow hijacking or arbitrary write primitives.\\nA:H - The same out-of-bounds heap writes reliably cause kernel oops/panic, and a NULL stream also yields an immediate kernel crash on dereference.\"}]}], \"affected\": [{\"repo\": \"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git\", \"vendor\": \"Linux\", \"product\": \"Linux\", \"versions\": [{\"status\": \"affected\", \"version\": \"a49d25364dfb9f8a64037488a39ab1f56c5fa419\", \"lessThan\": \"51b8dc5163d2ff2bf04019f8bf7e3bd0e75bb654\", \"versionType\": \"git\"}, {\"status\": \"affected\", \"version\": \"ad85094b293e40e7a2f831b0311a389d952ebd5e\", \"lessThan\": \"a560aeac2f2d284903b5900774765d7fc61547bc\", \"versionType\": \"git\"}, {\"status\": \"affected\", \"version\": \"ad85094b293e40e7a2f831b0311a389d952ebd5e\", \"lessThan\": \"a549517e4b761f3940011db30320cb8c9badde54\", \"versionType\": \"git\"}, {\"status\": \"affected\", \"version\": \"ad85094b293e40e7a2f831b0311a389d952ebd5e\", \"lessThan\": \"3ad290194bb06979367622e47357462836c1d3b4\", \"versionType\": \"git\"}], \"programFiles\": [\"drivers/staging/media/atomisp/pci/sh_css_params.c\"], \"defaultStatus\": \"unaffected\"}, {\"repo\": \"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git\", \"vendor\": \"Linux\", \"product\": \"Linux\", \"versions\": [{\"status\": \"affected\", \"version\": \"4.12\"}, {\"status\": \"affected\", \"version\": \"5.8\"}, {\"status\": \"unaffected\", \"version\": \"0\", \"lessThan\": \"4.12\", \"versionType\": \"semver\"}, {\"status\": \"unaffected\", \"version\": \"4.18\", \"lessThan\": \"5.8\", \"versionType\": \"semver\"}, {\"status\": \"unaffected\", \"version\": \"5.15.77\", \"versionType\": \"semver\", \"lessThanOrEqual\": \"5.15.*\"}, {\"status\": \"unaffected\", \"version\": \"6.0.7\", \"versionType\": \"semver\", \"lessThanOrEqual\": \"6.0.*\"}, {\"status\": \"unaffected\", \"version\": \"6.1\", \"versionType\": \"original_commit_for_fix\", \"lessThanOrEqual\": \"*\"}], \"programFiles\": [\"drivers/staging/media/atomisp/pci/sh_css_params.c\"], \"defaultStatus\": \"affected\"}], \"references\": [{\"url\": \"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/51b8dc5163d2ff2bf04019f8bf7e3bd0e75bb654\"}, {\"url\": \"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/a560aeac2f2d284903b5900774765d7fc61547bc\"}, {\"url\": \"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/a549517e4b761f3940011db30320cb8c9badde54\"}, {\"url\": \"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/3ad290194bb06979367622e47357462836c1d3b4\"}], \"x_generator\": {\"engine\": \"bippy-1.2.0\"}, \"descriptions\": [{\"lang\": \"en\", \"value\": \"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\\n\\nmedia: atomisp: prevent integer overflow in sh_css_set_black_frame()\\n\\nThe \\\"height\\\" and \\\"width\\\" values come from the user so the \\\"height * width\\\"\\nmultiplication can overflow.\"}], \"cpeApplicability\": [{\"nodes\": [{\"negate\": false, \"cpeMatch\": [{\"criteria\": \"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*\", \"vulnerable\": true, \"versionEndExcluding\": \"4.18\", \"versionStartIncluding\": \"4.12\"}, {\"criteria\": \"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*\", \"vulnerable\": true, \"versionEndExcluding\": \"5.15.77\", \"versionStartIncluding\": \"5.8\"}, {\"criteria\": \"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*\", \"vulnerable\": true, \"versionEndExcluding\": \"6.0.7\", \"versionStartIncluding\": \"5.8\"}, {\"criteria\": \"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*\", \"vulnerable\": true, \"versionEndExcluding\": \"6.1\", \"versionStartIncluding\": \"5.8\"}], \"operator\": \"OR\"}]}], \"providerMetadata\": {\"orgId\": \"416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67\", \"shortName\": \"Linux\", \"dateUpdated\": \"2026-08-05T08:58:33.676Z\"}}}",
