Summary
luci-lib-px5g (LuCI) contains a heap-based buffer overflow in the native ASN.1 encoding routine asn1_add_obj (x509write.c) when signing a certificate with a 2040-bit RSA key. For a 255-byte signature, the BIT STRING allocation is computed from the DER length encoding of 255 bytes, but the payload written after prepending the unused-bits byte is 256 bytes, requiring one additional DER length octet. As a result the allocation is 259 bytes while the tag, length, unused-bits byte, and signature require 260 bytes, and the final memcpy writes one byte beyond the heap buffer. The overflow is reachable through the exported Lua interface via create_selfsigned(); whether it is remotely exploitable depends on the embedding application. The vulnerable code is present on the openwrt-18.06 through openwrt-25.12 release branches and is absent from master, where the luci-lib-px5g package has been removed rather than patched.

Summary
luci-app-lxc contains an ACL inconsistency vulnerability that allows low-privileged authenticated LuCI users to access backend container management routes without proper authorization checks. Attackers can exploit path traversal via `/.%2E` in the `lxc_name` parameter to escape container directories and control host-side scripts executed through `lxc.hook.start-host`, achieving root code execution on the OpenWrt host.

Summary
OpenWrt LuCI contains an overly permissive ACL definition in luci-mod-system-mounts that grants write access to /etc/crontabs/root to users intended only for mount configuration. Authenticated users with only the mount-configuration ACL group can append arbitrary cron entries via ubus file.write, which the default busybox crond daemon executes as root within one minute.

OpenWrt luci-app-dockerman (LuCI master and openwrt-25.12 snapshots containing the ucode docker_rpc.uc RPC backend after the JS/ucode conversion) contains an OS command injection vulnerability. The package's read ACL grants broad ubus access to docker.* / docker.container.*, which exposes the docker.container.ttyd_start method even though it performs mutating operations. The run_ttyd handler builds a shell command from the request-controlled id, cmd, and uid fields and passes it to system() without quoting or argv-style execution in the rpcd root context. An authenticated attacker holding only the luci-app-dockerman read ACL can inject shell metacharacters (e.g., in id) to execute arbitrary commands as root via an HTTP POST to /ubus. openwrt-24.10 and openwrt-23.05 do not contain this backend and are not affected; no patched version was known as of the advisory.

OpenWrt luci-app-bmx7 before commit 5890760a454dad2cb00389dba2cdc5e779e0ffdd contains a path traversal vulnerability in the bmx7-info CGI script that allows unauthenticated attackers to read files outside the configured runtimeDir. Attackers can supply directory traversal sequences in the query string to escape the intended directory and read sensitive files accessible to the CGI process.

Summary
OpenWrt is a Linux operating system targeting embedded devices. Prior to 25.12.5, the cgi-download handler in cgi-io authorizes the requested path against the caller's ubus session file ACL before canonicalization, and rpcd session.c uses fnmatch() without FNM_PATHNAME, allowing traversal such as an allowed wildcard prefix followed by ../ to read root-readable files including /etc/shadow. This vulnerability is fixed in 25.12.5.

Summary

Summary
luci-app-banip contains a log parsing vulnerability where the awk-based parser extracts the first IPv4 address from log lines regardless of field position, allowing attackers to inject arbitrary IPs via attacker-controlled fields like usernames. An unauthenticated remote attacker can inject an IP address into the login username field, causing banIP to block the wrong target while the real attacker remains unblocked.

Summary
OpenWrt is a Linux operating system targeting embedded devices. Before v25.12.5, an integer underflow in handle_send_a() of the Emergency Access Daemon allows any unauthenticated attacker on the local network to crash the daemon by sending a single crafted UDP packet. The message length underflows before a bounds check and is then passed to memcpy as a very large size. This issue is fixed v25.12.5.

Summary
luci-app-travelmate (and the travelmate package) contain a privilege-escalation flaw: a LuCI/rpcd session holding the luci-app-travelmate write ACL is granted config-wide UCI write access to the travelmate configuration. While the LuCI UI restricts the auto-login script picker to /etc/travelmate/*.login, this is only a frontend restriction. The backend travelmate service (running as root) reads the raw UCI 'script' and 'script_args' values and executes the configured path when the captive-portal auto-login branch (f_check() in travelmate-functions.sh) is reached. An attacker with delegated write permissions can set script to /bin/sh and script_args to attacker-controlled arguments, resulting in arbitrary command execution as root. Confirmed in luci-app-travelmate/travelmate 2.4.5-r3; the sink is still present in travelmate 2.4.6-1 and no patched version is known.

Summary
luci-proto-openvpn through 0.11.1, fixed in commit e4ff45e, contains a command injection vulnerability in the generateKey ubus method where the cl_meta parameter is interpolated into a shell command without proper escaping or quoting. An authenticated LuCI user with OpenVPN protocol configuration access can inject arbitrary shell metacharacters into cl_meta to execute commands as root via the popen function.

Summary
LuCI is the OpenWrt Configuration Interface. Versions prior to both 24.10.5 and 25.12.0, contain a stored XSS vulnerability in the wireless scan modal, where SSID values from scan results are rendered as raw HTML without any sanitization. The wireless.js file in the luci-mod-network package passes SSIDs via a template literal to dom.append(), which processes them through innerHTML, allowing an attacker to craft a malicious SSID containing arbitrary HTML/JavaScript. Exploitation requires the user to actively open the wireless scan modal (e.g., to connect to a Wi-Fi access point or survey nearby channels), and only affects OpenWrt versions newer than 23.05/22.03 up to the patched releases (24.10.6 and 25.12.1). The issue has been fixed in version LuCI 26.072.65753~068150b.

OpenWrt Project is a Linux operating system targeting embedded devices. In versions prior to 24.10.6, a vulnerability in the hotplug_call function allows an attacker to bypass environment variable filtering and inject an arbitrary PATH variable, potentially leading to privilege escalation. As a result, the PATH variable is never excluded, enabling an attacker to control which binaries are executed by procd-invoked scripts running with elevated privileges. This issue has been fixed in version 24.10.6.

Summary
OpenWrt Project is a Linux operating system targeting embedded devices. In versions prior to both 24.10.6 and 25.12.1, the jp_get_token function, which performs lexical analysis by breaking input expressions into tokens, contains a memory leak vulnerability when extracting string literals, field labels, and regular expressions using dynamic memory allocation. These extracted results are stored in a jp_opcode struct, which is later copied to a newly allocated jp_opcode object via jp_alloc_op. During this transfer, if a string was previously extracted and stored in the initial jp_opcode, it is copied to the new allocation but the original memory is never freed, resulting in a memory leak. This issue has been fixed in versions 24.10.6 and 25.12.1.

Summary
OpenWrt Project is a Linux operating system targeting embedded devices. In versions prior to 24.10.6 and 25.12.1, the mdns daemon has a Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in the match_ipv6_addresses function, triggered when processing PTR queries for IPv6 reverse DNS domains (.ip6.arpa) received via multicast DNS on UDP port 5353. During processing, the domain name from name_buffer is copied via strcpy into a fixed 256-byte stack buffer, and then the reverse IPv6 request is extracted into a buffer of only 46 bytes (INET6_ADDRSTRLEN). Because the length of the data is never validated before this extraction, an attacker can supply input larger than 46 bytes, causing an out-of-bounds write. This allows a specially crafted DNS query to overflow the stack buffer in match_ipv6_addresses, potentially enabling remote code execution. This issue has been fixed in versions 24.10.6 and 25.12.1.

OpenWrt Project is a Linux operating system targeting embedded devices. Prior to version 24.10.4, ubusd contains a heap buffer overflow in the event registration parsing code. This allows an attacker to modify the head and potentially execute arbitrary code in the context of the ubus daemon. The affected code is executed before running the ACL checks, all ubus clients are able to send such messages. In addition to the heap corruption, the crafted subscription also results in a bypass of the listen ACL. This is fixed in OpenWrt 24.10.4. There are no workarounds.

Summary
OpenWrt Project is a Linux operating system targeting embedded devices. Prior to version 24.10.4, local users could read and write arbitrary kernel memory using the ioctls of the ltq-ptm driver which is used to drive the datapath of the DSL line. This only effects the lantiq target supporting xrx200, danube and amazon SoCs from Lantiq/Intel/MaxLinear with the DSL in PTM mode. The DSL driver for the VRX518 is not affected. ATM mode is also not affected. Most VDSL lines use PTM mode and most ADSL lines use ATM mode. OpenWrt is normally running as a single user system, but some services are sandboxed. This vulnerability could allow attackers to escape a ujail sandbox or other contains. This is fixed in OpenWrt 24.10.4. There are no workarounds.

Summary
openwrt/asu is an image on demand server for OpenWrt based distributions. The request hashing mechanism truncates SHA-256 hashes to only 12 characters. This significantly reduces entropy, making it feasible for an attacker to generate collisions. By exploiting this, a previously built malicious image can be served in place of a legitimate one, allowing the attacker to "poison" the artifact cache and deliver compromised images to unsuspecting users. This can be combined with other attacks, such as a command injection in Imagebuilder that allows malicious users to inject arbitrary commands into the build process, resulting in the production of malicious firmware images signed with the legitimate build key. This has been patched with 920c8a1.
