CVE-2026-66092 (GCVE-0-2026-66092)
Vulnerability from cvelistv5
Published

Modified
2026-10-29 02:02
CWE
  • CWE-79 - Improper neutralization of input during web page generation ('cross-site scripting')
Summary
In openEQUELLA before 2026.2, the pre-login notice is stored as HTML and rendered on the legacy logon page without encoding or sanitisation. A user holding the EDIT_SYSTEM_SETTINGS permission can set a notice containing an arbitrary script (PUT /api/preloginnotice), resulting in stored cross-site scripting on the login page. Unauthenticated exploitation is possible where EDIT_SYSTEM_SETTINGS has been granted to the guest user or Everyone

CWE
  • CWE-611 - Improper restriction of XML external entity reference
Summary
In openEQUELLA before 2026.1, the XML parser used for item metadata does not disable external entity resolution. A user permitted to create items (CREATE_ITEM) can submit crafted XML to POST /api/item and cause the server to read arbitrary files accessible to the openEQUELLA service, or make requests to attacker-specified locations (SSRF), including cloud instance metadata services.

CWE
  • CWE-611 - Improper restriction of XML external entity reference
Summary
In openEQUELLA before 2026.1, the SOAP API parses XML supplied in the stopEdit operation with a parser that resolves external entities. This allows an attacker to read arbitrary files accessible to the openEQUELLA service or cause the server to issue requests to attacker-specified locations (SSRF).

CVE-2026-16889 (GCVE-0-2026-16889)
Vulnerability from cvelistv5
Published
2026-10-29 01:32
Modified
2026-10-29 02:02
CWE
  • CWE-434 - Unrestricted upload of file with dangerous type
Summary
In openEQUELLA before 2026.1, the pre-login notice image upload endpoint (PUT /api/preloginnotice/image/{name}) does not validate the type of uploaded files and serves them with a Content-Type derived from the supplied filename. A user holding the EDIT_SYSTEM_SETTINGS permission can upload an HTML file that is then served as text/html from the openEQUELLA origin, resulting in stored cross-site scripting. Unauthenticated exploitation is possible where EDIT_SYSTEM_SETTINGS has been granted to the guest user or everyone.

CVE-2026-67615 (GCVE-0-2026-67615)
Vulnerability from cvelistv5
Published

Modified

CWE
  • CWE-502 - Deserialization of Untrusted Data
  • CWE-184 - Incomplete List of Disallowed Inputs
Summary
openEQUELLA before 2026.1.0 contains an authenticated remote code execution vulnerability that allows any authenticated non-guest user to execute arbitrary code by exploiting Java deserialization in the HTTP invoker endpoint at /invoker/*. Attackers can bypass the class-name denylist enforced by PluginAwareObjectInputStream by nesting a serialized payload inside a java.security.SignedObject, causing the inner stream to be deserialized by a separate ObjectInputStream that does not apply the denylist, ultimately reaching a JNDI sink and enabling code execution.

Attackers can bypass the class-name denylist enforced by PluginAwareObjectInputStream by nesting a serialized payload inside a java.security.SignedObject, causing the inner stream to be deserialized by a separate ObjectInputStream that does not apply the denylist, ultimately reaching a JNDI sink and enabling code execution."
